SUPERBLOOM: Plant Community Management

Friday, June 12, 9-11a

I’m inviting a small group of plant-minded folks for a morning in my personal garden (i.e. former lawn turned drought-tolerant meadow).

This week is the peak of the early-summer super bloom featuring Penstemon, Echinacea, and Parthenium (among others), and it’s a magical moment.

Now in it’s sixth growing season, this garden is embedded with valuable lessons, and this workshop will focus on how to approach the long-term management of designed plant communities.

From challenges to opportunities and happy accidents, learn how to approach management for a sustainable long-term relationship with your own outdoors.

We’ll discuss ways to maximize wildlife habitat, use less water, maximize plant species diversity, explore “trouble” spots and how to approach them, learn how to edit plants on the move, and so much more.

You’ll also be immersed in some pretty great beauty. Please dress for the weather and bring your own water bottle. All other materials will be provided.

I’ll also take you literally behind the scenes to peep a few of the plugs currently cooking that I hope to debut when The Lot Next Door reopens for fall planting in September, and you’ll get a sneak peak of the Pansy trials. There’s magic around every corner.

Location | Please watch your email for details 24 hours before the workshop begins.
